Discrimination, misunderstanding, resentment…All these exist in our modern civilization, between different races, or even among people with the same religious beliefs and speaking the same language. I remember a Chinese poet Cheng Gu once said ,"Darkness has given me dark eyes but I will seek brightness with them!’ Where there is hope, there is life. Bable is a classic. Babel is superbly crafted melodrama for the new millennium. Babel is also an exercise in building bridges, using its nation-hopping vantage to reveal the invisible connections and common traits that define humankind as a coherent species. Very highly recommended.
