Casino is the best Italian mob film of all times. It's pretty much a sequel to Goodfellas which was also a spectacular film. Nobody does it better than Martin Scorsese and Nicholas Pileggi. Robert DiNiro, Joe Pesci, Sharon Stone, and Frank Vincent were phenominal in that film. What I like most about the film was the narrating between DiNiro and Pesci. Both men told the story about the conspiracy from A to Z. DiNiro and Pesci mentions every little detail of the story. I wish a lot of mob films can be this spectacular. bmaddrums (10 out of 10 )
Casino was great,but the book tells it completely different. The film was not really the way of it, I guess for dramatic purposes they changed a few things around. Actually, in the end, Ace Rothstein(Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal) ended up in the "Black Book" and was permanantly barred from all casinos. Years of him fighting the Gaming Commission's ruling sadly amounted to nothing.That is stated at the end of the book.
