What I love about William Goldman is that he writes "his way." I think there is too much emphasis these days on scripts being written to a common standard, using a standard language, which actually detracts from the writer's own unique voice. Every time I see a Goldman script, it just reminds me how important it is to write in a way that matches my work and my voice, rather than get all tangled up with the standard way to doing things.
