I visited Mainsfield Prison right after the filming of Shawshank, I was really moved when I saw the movie and now read the script.

Loved it a lot!

I have seen this movie a million times, and I have to say it is the best movie I've ever seen. Even better than Forrrest Gump. Every time when I feel discouraged, I will see this movie, from which I can find what I need - hope.

I'm studying the Shawshank Redemption in class at the moment. I am loving it and my teacher couldn't have picked a better film.

Gary Cole     (10 out of 10 )
Easily, the best movie have ever seen. I often stumble across it channel surfing and no matter where in the film I start I always watch it till the end. I've done this at least a 1000 times, and each time I am both moved and inspired.

By far the best adaptation of a Stephen King story ever accomplished! I loved this story, read it over and over and was so pleasantly surprised by the movie. The script and storyline are arm in arm with the original.

I will put it this way, once you start watching you won't want to miss a second of it. It is truly one of the best made movies ever. I think.

Best movie I've ever seen in my whole life. I love shawshank.

SAMI (10 out of 10 )
The best movie that I've ever seen in my entire life. It is just not a movie. Beyond a movie!

PERFECT WITHOUT A DOUBT. I can only repeat the words from time to time: "I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are just too bright... and when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice...but still, the place you live is that much more drab and empty that they're gone."

Honestly one of the greatest movies ever. I watched that movie every day for 2 weeks. Tim Robbins makes every second of the movie so real.

Julio Garcia-Meza (10 out of 10 )
Great movie, the best I've seen in a long time.

I've always loved the movie. It's inspirational in so many ways, and never fails to pull me into another world. At least for a few hours, and that my friends, is the sign of a great movie (and screenplay)! Best of all, no matter how crappy I'm feeling before, I'm left thinking "Get busy living." by the end.

This movie is a very uplifting cinematic experience that is brought to life with great actors, a great director, and a very fitting music score. I couldn't be proud enough to share my last name with such a suave, enigmatic character such as Andy Dufresne (spelled differently than mine, but still pronounced the same). My mother introduced me to this film when I was 11, and I've been glued to it's world ever since. She also showed me The Green Mile, a twin to this movie, and I loved it just the same as this one. Tim Robbins has his chance to really shine in this movie (as if he didn't shine already), especially in his iconic escape scene or when he plays Mozart over the P. A. Speakers. Deserves every star I gave it.

Gary Hobson     (10 out of 10 )
I first saw this movie a long time ago now but its still amazing each time I see it. Freeman & Robbins are fantastic in what is a very heartfelt and fantastic story. I cannot name another movie that is better than this. Freeman has done some great movies but this is his best yet. Everlasting pleasure at the touch of the play button.

Without a doubt, the best script I've ever read. Amazing. Just amazing. Amazing. Wow.

The salvation lies within. What a movie. I loved it, it was nice, especially the comment on hope they made.

Kendrick Armstead     (10 out of 10 )
Get busy living or get busy dying. This movie was a true testament of faith, hope, and love. It not only inspired me as a writer, it inspired as a person.

This movie was ranked the #1 favorite movie by 80,000 viewers in imdb's movie poll and by reading the script you can see why. I am not an expert film script critic but to me it's smooth and flows giving just the right amount of detail, not overwhelming with details but giving a strong mental image of life in Shawshank prison. It's a well crafted drama with a clear human aspect that keeps the film alive in your heart even after the last frame closes. Frank Darabont's masterpiece adaptation of literary savant Stephen King's work enthralled its viewers and by looking at this young aspiring scriptwriters and directors can get a free lesson. Also get busy living or get busy dying.

I want to write so much about Shawshank Redemption every time I get to read/watch it but I just fall short of words. The script is so powerful that I am unsure whether I enjoy watching the movie more or reading the script.

I like this version better. It adds more where as the movie left out so much.
