Speed Racer is my favorite movie of all time. Since it came out on DVD less than a year ago I have watched it nearly 25 times. I like it for the following reasons:
1. It is innovative in the way it displays images. Rather than cutting from scene-to-scene, moving images are used to advance the view, and these images themselves present a separate, important idea.
2. Pair with the above image presentation, the flash-back sequences that introduce the backstory are well done, succinct, and powerful.
3. The movie itself is able to provide a compelling story and compelling characters without devolving into the crass sexual or violent displays found in the rest of Hollywood. I've never been able to count more than 12 swear words in the whole movie, and about half of those are only if you count "God" and "Jesus" as foul.
4. The images and final scene is still exciting after 25 times watching it.
