Lance Marchetti (10 out of 10 ) Wow! What can one say? This is my favorite animation of ALL time. As an adult, it made me deeply appreciate human relationships. And as a kid, it made me aspire to never give up on one's promises and dreams. A truly beautiful movie. A classic in the making.
John (10 out of 10 ) Up is one of those movies that you never forget. You watch it a second time it's still brilliant. You watch it a third time and it still doesn't lose the magic. Up has that charm that most computer animated movies generally lack today: old school Disney styled film-making. Pixar has always managed to make great movies for the cinema of animation. Cars and a Bug's Life lack the depth of the other Pixar movies. An old man who has lost his wife and makes her dream journey happen, traveling to South America by balloons with their own house= a perfect emotional and immersive experience, let alone an original experience. This movie has what Hollywood lacks in general: originality and creativity. It also feels like a really well constructed movie not meant for the public movie going crowd. It managed to gross 785 million dollars at the box office. Well deserved success for a movie that has a soul to it. Flying houses, talking dogs and chocolate eating birds also helps the many factors that make this movie great. It hasn't been praised for no reason, it actually is one of those movies that deserves the critical praise. If you haven't seen it, you should watch it no matter how old you are.
Doug (10 out of 10 ) Wow, great movie, it must be one of Pixar's best, next to Toy Story. I can never get tired of it. Although I'm just a kid, I know lots of adults in the theater also loved this. Some parts could have used more use of the animation medium, but this still makes it a great animation.
