John (10 out of 10 ) James Dean - idol of mine!!!!!!!!
Aimee (1 out of 10 ) Stupid cheesy movie, a lot of the parts are very unrealistic.
Silver Catalyst (10 out of 10 ) Fantastic movie, an absolute classic!
shae (8 out of 10 ) We had to watch it for english and it was different! James Dean is damn fine and yeah it's a bit corny, but it's old! Like I said, James Dean is HOT!
Joe (7 out of 10 ) The movie seems to be obsolete and old-fashioned for many youngsters nowadays, but we must globally understand the context it was first made and released. The American Society during the 50s was even more puritan, more falsely naive, and more "anglo-saxonly" WASP puritan it is today. A guy like James Dean showing the first signs of rebellion against the hypocritical attitude of his parents inspired many adolescents of that age repressed, tortured and tormented by a ideology based upon proposterous and nonsensical military values.
chris (10 out of 10 ) To Joe, I'm a 16 year old kid and I've found this movie to be amazing and incredibly relevant to teens nowadays. Sure we react differently to different things, but essentially it's the same. I think that Rebel Without A Cause is a classic and all of my friends have agreed that it is an amazing movie. No one I've shown it to has said it wasn't one of their top ten after that.
betty bee (10 out of 10 ) I saw the movie when it was released and after all these years it is still the epitome of Dean's talents. He was and is the greatest young actor in our history, bar none. The entire cast was picked to represent this classic and all were chosen because of their perfection in their craft. Wonderful acting. Truth is truth.
Barack Obama (3 out of 10 ) Pretty cheesy, the message is ok but honestly some of these things are pretty dumb. "PLATO KILLZ PUPIEZ LOL!" or "Well, my boyfriend just died, I may as well not grieve and hook up with a kid I met 12 hours ago". The acting is poor, James Dean is more hype in this movie than people will admit, and a lot of the lines are pretty stupid and inconsequential.
Jim (10 out of 10 ) To Aimee and Barack Obama, You guys don't know crap about this movie. For one thing, The guy who played Buzz was a member of a real gang. He went to the director and told him how teenagers in gangs really were (in that time). And the language was a little different back then, like how shakespearean language was different than it was in the 1900's. Do your homework next time before you bash anything.
TK (10 out of 10 ) Well, Rebel Without A Cause is on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 Greatest Films Of All Time. So either the AFI is wrong, or the few who think Rebel is "cheesy" are wrong. I'll put my money on AFI being right, and you "cheesy" commenters don't know a good film when you see one.
Rec4Specs (10 out of 10 ) I held off on watching this movie with my fiancee for so long but finally I had to bite the bullet. When it started, I though for sure it was going to be cheesy, nothing like today's movies. But after watching Dean act alongside the rest of the cast. The movie is excellent. I have yet to see a better actor than Dean in comparison to the amount of time he had been acting. My wife and I quote this movie all the time and its now a family classic. Absolutely love this film.
